Best Motorola One Fusion + First Impression

Motorola One Fusion + First Impression: Motorola is continuously launching new smartphones in India.

It recently launched Motorola Edge + and Motorola G8 Power Lite, both aimed at the opposite end of the smartphone market. The company’s new Motorola One Fusion + is targeted at a very low price in the market. 20,000 volumes.

Priced at Rs 16,999 with only one configuration, it is entering the ring against accomplished devices like Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Poco X2 and Realme 6 Pro. Has Motorola done well with One Fusion + I got my hands on the device, and here are my first impressions?

While not a part of the Motorola One Fusion + G series, the packing reminded me of Moto’s popular budget model. This phone only comes with essentials, its 18W turbocharger, a SIM ejector and a plastic case.

After taking the phone out of the box, I would say that it is 9.6 mm in thickness.

It is no featherweight, and at 210 grams you will notice theft while holding it, Motorola has neatly curved the sides of the phone which helps it sit comfortably in the palm.

The thickness and weight of the device is partially under the 5,000mAh battery that it packs. This will benefit in giving it more battery life.

The other thing I noticed is the lack of a notch or hole-punch on the front panel. Motorola has opted for a pop-up module for the 16-megapixel selfie camera.

You get an uninterrupted view of the large 6.5-inch full-HD + display with thin bezels on the top and sides.

This panel is HDR10 certified and has excellent viewing angles. Motorola has added a powerful bottom-firing speaker to the mix that will help improve the video viewing experience.

All the buttons are on the right side of the device, and the Motorola One Fusion + has a dedicated Google Assistant button that exceeds the power and volume buttons.

I like that it is on the other side which is empty, but this is not a major concern as the button is still available when using the device single-handed. The Motorola One Fusion + has a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom with a USB Type-C port.

At the rear, the Motorola One Fusion + sports a quad-camera setup like its rivals.

The primary sensor has a 64-megapixel resolution with f / 1.8 aperture, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with f / 2.2 aperture, a 5-megapixel macro camera with f / 2.4 aperture and 2 – Megapixel depth sensor.

There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on Motorola’s batting logo. The scanner is easy to reach and I had no issues with single-use.

Motorola has dropped the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC to power the Indian version of this phone, while it is sold in other countries along with the Snapdragon 730 SoC.

When we review it, it helps the Motorola One Fusion + give a better score in the graphics test. There is only one configuration option, which is 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

I like that many variants overlap other series, such as Xiaomi has. Storage can be increased to 1TB using a hybrid dual-SIM slot.

The Motorola One Fusion + is a dual-SIM smartphone with dual 4G LTE support. It also supports Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS.

Motorola One Fusion + My UX runs on top of Android 10. The skin is minimal and feels like a stock Android. Apart from a few pre-installed Google apps, the Motorola One Fusion + has absolutely zero bloatware that is rare to see these days.

Nevertheless, Motorola has added some of its useful gestures such as a double-chop to turn on the flashlight and a double-twist to launch the camera app, among others.

The UI is extremely easy to navigate and that i didn’t face any issues here. Motorola One Fusion + was running the April security patch, which is not the latest.

Motorola has priced the One Fusion + at Rs 16,999 in India, which makes it stand out against the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Poco X2 and Realme 6 Pro.

I think it is going to be a close match between all these devices. Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 tech news for our full review to see if Motorola One Fusion + can top the competition.
