The appearance settings for Google Search were announced in September 2021 through a post on Google Support.
Google Search is one of those tools that we use in most of the things in our daily life. But when we use a glowing white screen in a dark room, then the eyes suffer. Excessive whiteness and glare before our eyes in a dark room can make us dizzy. For this, dark mode also comes in Google Search. We are telling you how you can activate Google Search Dark Mode on your desktop.
Now a third setting is also available to the users with dark and light mode. The setting you get as a third option syncs the appearance setting for Google Search with your computer’s default theme. With this, you can also set a time for turning on / off dark mode. Dark mode allows less pressure on the eyes. It keeps the contrast ratio to a minimum which makes it easy to read.

The post also mentioned that the new dark mode settings have started rolling out to users on September 9 and will be gradually available to all users in the coming weeks.
