TL;DR: Amazon has several AeroGardens on sale for as much as 35% off as of July 27.

Unless you’re willing to chance it on a few carrot or kale seeds, we’re well past gardening season in most regions of the U.S. Anything planted at this point is at risk of succumbing to cold weather when the first frost rolls around, no matter how much fertilizer and TLC you shower upon it.

Mind you, this isn’t to say you should scrap your dreams of homegrown salsa and salad completely — you can still grow herbs and vegetables this time of year, just not outside, and with the proper equipment. Enter: indoor gardens from AeroGarden

AeroGarden’s countertop systems make it possible to cultivate a mini organic, hydroponic garden right in your kitchen with minimal maintenance, zero natural sunlight, and no messy dirt. Plus, green thumbs aren’t required: all it takes is popping some seed pods into the garden’s reservoir, filling it up with water and plant food, plugging it in, and selecting a program on its control panel. (You’ll get reminders when the system’s low on water and food, but other than that, you can basically forget about the whole thing ’til your plant babies are ready for harvest.)

AeroGarden itself has been having a 20% off sale on its website since late spring, but we noticed that some of its indoor gardens (all of which include gourmet herb seed pod kits) were even cheaper on Amazon as of July 27. We’ve listed them below in order of highest to lowest discount:

As the largest of AeroGarden’s countertop models, the Bounty Elite offers room for up to nine plants and up to 24 inches of grow height. Other spec highlights include a full-color touchscreen, WiFi and Amazon Alexa compatibility, sunrise and sunset lighting, and a Vacation Mode that keeps your plants alive when you’re not around to check on them.

This particular garden typically retails for $429.95, but you can score one on Amazon for just $279.99 — a savings of nearly $150.

Perfect for the most cramped of kitchens, the ultra-compact Sprout model can grow up to three 10-inch plants at once and comes in a matte finish. Amazon’s got in on sale in black for $74.38, or about $25 off its suggested retail price of $99.95. (P.S. This one’s sold out on the AeroGarden website.)

With room for six plants and up to 12 inches of growth, this sleek stainless steel garden features a digital display and that aforementioned “vacation” setting. If you order one from Amazon today, you’ll pay just $139.99 — that’s about $40 off its suggested retail price of $179.95.

This round six-pod garden offering up to 12 inches of growth is barely on sale (it usually retails for $179.95), but we figured it was worth a shoutout because it’s completely sold out on the AeroGarden website. Amazon has it in a platinum stainless steel finish for $172.63 — a sweet, sweet $7.32 savings.
