It was James Corden’s 42nd birthday on Saturday, and his Late Late Show colleagues didn’t forget.
In the clip above, shortly before cutting to the break, Corden gets interrupted by the surprise gift of a brand new desk. The twist? The top folds back, revealing a Hibachi grill and some ready-to-cook prawns and eggs underneath.
Corden then spends the next five minutes gleefully cooking up some grub, before attempting to sling random items into the mouths of his socially distanced colleagues.
“You know what I think?” says Corden, midway through attempting to toss a shrimp into his own chef’s hat, “John Oliver should do this more. I think when John Oliver’s really unpacking like, some real deep injustice, it would really help if he was just tossing shrimp into a hat.”
