A group of seven tech companies made a series of voluntary commitments with the White House to develop AI responsibly and manage the pitfalls posed by the burgeoning technology.

- Amazon, Anthropic, Google, Inflection, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI are part of the group and will meet at the White House on Friday.
- The commitments include making sure the products are secure and safe before releasing them to the public; developing systems similar to watermarking to make sure druggies know when content is AI generated; prioritizing exploration on the societal pitfalls of AI; and further.
- The White House said it’s developing an administrative order related to responsible AI development and “ will pursue bipartisan legislation to help America lead the way in responsible invention. ”
- “ By moving snappily, the White House’s commitments produce a foundation to help ensure the pledge of AI stays ahead of its pitfalls, ” Microsoft President Brad Smith said in a blog post. “ We drink the President’s leadership in bringing the tech assiduity together to hammer out concrete ways that will help make AI safer, more secure, and more salutary for the public. ”
