Rainfall has been very low in the Central areas of the country during this pre-monsoon season. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat have significant rain deficits, while Maharashtra has a rain deficit. Throughout the pre-monsoon season, the temperatures in these four states stayed on the warm side. Rajasthan, Gujarat, Vidarbha, North Madhya Maharashtra, and western Madhya Pradesh have all experienced protracted heat waves.

Pre-monsoon activities have begun in portions of North Rajasthan since May 20th and are expected to last through May 23rd. Following that, the weather in Rajasthan is forecast to dry out, and temperatures will rise again, resulting in heatwaves. For at least the next week, no significant weather activity is expected across Rajasthan.

During the previous 24 hours, the eastern areas of Madhya Pradesh have received scattered light rain. Rain is now expected to affect additional sections of the state. Until May 24, Gwalior, Guna, Shahjapur, Tikamgarh, Sagar, Umaria, Damoh, Jabalpur, Rewa, Satna, and Sidhi may have sporadic rain. Following that, the weather in Madhya Pradesh will become dry, but we do not expect any noteworthy weather events in Southwest Rajasthan in the next few days.

In the following days, light rain may fall over the Konkan, Goa, and South Madhya Maharashtra. Around May 26 and 27, isolated thunderstorms or light rain may develop over Vidarbha and Marathwada. North Madhya Maharashtra will be dry and hot for the most part.

Gujarat has been devoid of meteorological activity for several days, and the weather is dry and scorching. There is no substantial weather system forming over the northeast Arabian Sea, Gujarat, or southwest Rajasthan, which would have brought some weather activity to Gujarat. Throughout the month of May, the weather in Gujarat will stay dry and hot.
