First production model 2024 Ford Mustang sold at auction for $565,000 on Saturday, with 100 % of the money going to charities.
The auction of the Mustang VIN 001 (a 486-hp 5.0-liter V-8 powered GT model, was held at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale, Arizona event on the 28th of January. The proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which is a funder of research on type 1 diabetes.
Although the 2024 Mustang was being rolled around the block during the auction, it was not the model in question as production hasn’t yet begun. The buyer who wins will be able to specify VIN 001 as they wish with the option of choosing from eleven exterior color options, various wheel designs, and three brake color options for the caliper. We’re hoping that whoever is choosing this car will select the manual transmission with six speeds.
If you did not win the opportunity to bid on take-home VIN 001, don’t fret. the 2024 Ford Mustang is set to launch later this year. Pricing is yet to be disclosed, however, we anticipate the EcoBoost-powered base version to start at around $30,000. The V-8-powered GT will probably cost closer to $40,000.
